Biology

Espeon is an evolution of Eevee. Espeon greatly resembles a cat, and has a split tail. It can predict incoming threats.

Design & origin

Its design may be associated with the mythological creatures Carbuncle and Nekomata. Espeon's English name hails from the words "ESP" and "eon". Together, Espeon and Umbreon represent either side of the yin and yang philosophical concept.

Espeon was designed by Atsuko Nishida, who aimed to give it a "mysterious" design to emphasize its Psychic type.
