Biology

Ursaluna is an evolution of Ursaring native to the Hisui region; it evolves from Ursaring when a Peat Block is used on it during a full moon. Its form is speculated to have originated from the swampy regions of Hisui.

Design & origin

Ursaluna is inspired by the Ussuri brown bear found in Hokkaidō, the region of Japan that inspired Hisui, among other places in East Asia. Similar to the crescent moon pattern on Teddiursa and the new moon pattern on Ursaring, the pattern on Ursaluna's head is inspired by a full moon on a cloudy night.

This unique Ursaluna, found in the land of Kitakami, is unusually long-lived for its species, having drifted across the seas from Sinnoh when it was still called Hisui and lived in Kitakami since.
