Biology

Tinkaton is a female-only species, the evolved form of Tinkatuff and the final evolution of Tinkatink; as these Pokémon evolve, their hammers are reinforced to become stronger and larger. Standing 2 feet 4 inches (70 cm) tall, it appears as a short pink creature with long light pink hair that extends the length of its body, while a bow made of hair adorns the top of its head.

Its rearranged teeth overlap its lower lip when it closes its mouth, and its arms are fully covered in light pink save for its thumbs, with the hands ending in four short fingers. It builds a massive makeshift hammer from scrap metal, which it wields with ease due to a metaphysical link despite the weapon's weight.

Tinkaton is said to have learned to upgrade its hammer with metals out of pure spite after being bullied by Steel-type Pokémon as Tinkatink and Tinkatuff. Highly intelligent and daring, it steals whatever catches its eye and brings it back to its lair. It uses its hammer to launch stones at its natural prey, Corviknight, a large, metallic bird-like Pokémon, knocking it out of the sky.

As a result, Corviknight is unable to provide taxi service for humans within the Paldea region, where Tinkaton is native.

Design & origin

Tinkaton, Tinkatuff and Tinkatink were all designed by artist Megumi Mizutani at the request of Game Freak.
