Biology

Phione are incapable of evolving into Manaphy. It is a member of the Sea Guardian Duo along with Manaphy. These Mythical Pokémon live in packs in warm seas.

It inflates the sac on its head to drift and look for food. It always returns to where it was born, no matter how far away it may have drifted. Its azure body blends in with the surrounding water, theoretically being a defense mechanism.

Design & origin

Phione is based on Clione Limacina, and its English name is a portmanteau of the last syllable of Manaphy and the word Clione.
