Biology

Xerneas represents eternity and is known in Kalosian mythology as "the one who gives". It can invigorate humans and other Pokémon with life energy, and maintains the balance between life and death alongside Yveltal. It is able to lie dormant as a large tree for 1,000 years to regain its powers after exhausting them.

Design & origin

Xerneas' design is inspired by the Eikþyrnir of Norse mythology, a stag that stands atop Valhalla.

Forms

Active Mode Xerneas

Xerneas changes automatically between two forms whose differences are purely esthetic: Neutral Mode outside of battle and Active Mode during battles.
