Privacy
DexDB has no accounts and asks for nothing about you. This is what it keeps, and who else sees a visit.
What stays on your device
DexDB sets no cookies of its own. Your settings, teams, calculator work and simulator games are kept in your browser’s local storage, and the page you came from in session storage. They stay on your device unless you share, and clearing your site data removes them.
Sharing is the one time something is kept on our side. When you copy or send a team’s link from the team builder, its short link stores that team’s code (its Pokémon, moves, items and name, nothing about you) with Cloudflare, so the short link can open it.
It is kept with no end date. Nothing is stored unless you ask for that link. A shared battle’s link stores nothing: the battle is inside the link itself.
Other companies’ servers
The fonts are DexDB’s own files. A page asks these others for something, only when it needs it:
- Cloudflare
- Hosts the site. It sees your address and the page you ask for, as any host does.
- GitHub
- Serves most Pokémon pictures, sounds and item icons from raw.githubusercontent.com. It sees your address, and that the request came from DexDB.
- pokopia.pokemon.com
- Serves the game’s own art on the Pokopia pages and on the few Pokémon pages whose Pokopia card shows it.
- jsDelivr
- Serves the damage calculator’s engine, on the calculator page only.
- pokepast.es
- Only when you export a team to it or import from its link.
- YouTube
- Only when you press play on a move’s video, from youtube-nocookie.com.
When a page asks another site for something, your browser sends that site your address and, as the referrer, only DexDB’s name (https://dexdb.io), never the page.
Ads
DexDB shows no ads at the moment. It may show ads from Google AdSense on its reference pages, never in the team builder, the damage calculator or the battle simulator. This page says what that means before any ad runs.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a person’s earlier visits to this site or other sites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to people based on their visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
Every ad unit here is marked for child treatment, so ads are not personalized and Google does not use the visit for remarketing. Google may still use cookies for basics such as counting views and limiting how often one ad shows.
