Pokémon Champions battle simulator Beta
Play out a matchup turn by turn with the game’s real rules. Step back, try another move, see who wins.

How it works
Start
- Pick two teams: yours from the team builder, a tournament team, or pasted Showdown text.
- Choose who plays: you against a bot, you on both sides, or two bots.
- Pick four to bring; the first two lead.
Turns
- Back and Next step one turn. Play runs on; touching anything pauses it.
- Each turn has one line saying why things happened: who moved first and why, what knocked out what.
- Speed, priority, Tailwind and Trick Room decide the order; the lane shows it.
- “Play from here” on any turn starts a new line: try another move and compare.
Win chance
- From where the battle stands, it’s played to the end 40 times with fresh luck, both sides played by the bot.
- So it says how the position looks, not what a strong player would do.
Rules
- Showdown’s own battle engine with its Pokémon Champions rules: level 50, Stat Points, Mega Evolution, Champions’ move changes.
- Every damage roll, miss, crit and status works as in Showdown.
- Sets without Stat Points (tournament sheets) take each Pokémon’s most used spread; the team says so.
Battle engine: Pokémon Showdown’s simulator and its Pokémon Champions rules (MIT licence), packaged by pkmn (licences). The bot is DexDB’s own and plays simply; it is never a person. The move animations are fan-made, not from the games.
Animation: the Gen 9 Move Animation Project for Pokémon Essentials, led by KRLW890 and Nut0066 with Toxillian, QuahogTheCreator, Lcorp and Shashu-Greninja, continuing StCooler’s Gen 8 Move Animation Project and Pokémon Reborn’s animations. Sprites: PokéAPI.
