How it works

What you can do

Simple and Advanced

  • Simple: the same numbers in plain words (“KO in 2 hits”), with fewer controls.
  • Advanced: everything. Stat Point steps, crits, all 16 rolls, the formula, the 2v2 board, Total damage, Fewest Stat Points.
  • The switch under the title; this browser remembers it.

Rules

  • Champions (default): level 50, perfect IVs.
    • Stat Points: +1 to a stat each, up to 32 per stat, 66 in all.
    • Stat Alignment: one stat +10%, another −10% (like a nature).
    • Mega Evolution: yes (hold the Mega Stone). Tera: no.
    • Changed moves use Champions’ numbers.
  • Scarlet & Violet: EVs, IVs, level and Tera Type. Every Pokémon, move and item.
  • Pokémon Monomyth (the fan-made Emerald hack): its own Pokémon, forms and moves with its own numbers, EVs, IVs and level, no Tera.
    • Gen 9 damage rules. New moves and abilities count for power, type and category only.
    • Fetched when you pick it. No usage or teams.

Doubles

  • Spread moves do 75% to each target (“Both foes ×0.75”). Pick “One target” when only one is left.
  • The Field bar: weather, terrain, screens, Helping Hand, Tailwind, hazards, rooms, auras, Ruin.

Reading a result

  • Damage roll: each hit does a random 85–100% of its top damage (16 values).
  • The % range: lowest to highest roll, out of full HP.
  • KO chance: every roll, against the HP it has now.
  • The bar starts from the HP you set; its key says what each part means.
  • Why this number: a move’s Details list every modifier. A move that does nothing says why (an immunity, Psychic Terrain blocking priority…).
  • Damage formula: the steps from the stats to the damage, rounded as the games do.
  • 1v1: the line under the matchup says who wins and why. Its Details has the turns.
  • 1v1, end of each turn, in the games’ order: weather, Leftovers, poison, burn, Leech Seed, binds (Fire Spin, Whirlpool…), Salt Cure, Curse.
  • 1v1 chances: misses, full paralysis, how long sleep lasts, confusion, Attract; crits once Count critical hits is on.
  • What would change it: the fewest Stat Points for the target to take one more hit, or for the attacker to need one fewer.
  • Advanced › View turns any block off.

Tools

  • 2v2 board: both sides, every move into every target. Partner effects count (Helping Hand, Friend Guard, a second Intimidate).
  • Total damage: add 2–4 hits for their exact KO chance.
  • Meta table: your Pokémon vs today’s most used, both ways, and who’s faster.
  • Fewest Stat Points: the fewest to survive a hit, KO a target and outspeed it.

Sets and your team

  • In Champions, new picks start with their most used set: the in-game ladder’s, else Showdown’s (Customize › Usage numbers puts Showdown first). Monomyth has no usage: a new pick starts with its four strongest moves.
  • The set menu has other common sets. The pickers show how many players choose each option.
  • “+ Team” adds the set to your team; the strip loads any of your team.
  • Paste a set or team from Showdown or PokePaste.
  • Saved calcs and undo stay in this browser.

Damage formula: @smogon/calc 0.12.0 by Smogon (MIT licence), with its Pokémon Champions mechanics for that game.

Champions’ most used sets: Smogon’s usage stats from Pokémon Showdown (Sep 2026) and the in-game ladder (battle data provided by Pokémon Champions Battle Data).

Every number is checked against 66 saved cases: @smogon/calc’s own results, and Showdown’s battle engine for the 1v1 (last run Oct 29, 2026).
